Independent register

Est. 2021 · Register No. NB-REG-001

The independent register of machinery dealers.

Northbeam audits one trade and one trade only: firms that sell and service heavy equipment. We check the licence, turn up at the yard unannounced, measure what the listings claim, and publish every finding in an audit trail that cannot be edited or bought.

No firm pays to be verified. No firm pays to have an adverse entry removed, because there is no mechanism to remove one. Corrections are filed as new entries alongside the original.

Two record states. Nothing between them.

Verified

Verified

The firm cleared a Northbeam field audit. The record carries a register number, a confirmed state licence, dated inspection findings, an inspection photograph, and references matched to real paperwork.

Listed, unaudited

Listed, unaudited

A real firm entered from public filings that we have never visited. No register number, no checks, no references, no score. We would rather publish an empty record than a flattering guess.

What makes this register different

Every record shows its own history, not just today's status.

All register activity

A badge tells you nothing about the year a firm was suspended, the complaint it answered, or the condition it still carries. Northbeam publishes the whole file. Below is the live trail for Kestrel Ridge Machinery, register number NB-AG-0114.

A verifier that sells leads is not a verifier.

Most machinery “trust” marks are owned by the marketplaces that profit from the listings. The badge is the product, and the firms being checked are the customers.

Northbeam has no marketplace, no listings, and no referral fees. Firms pay a flat audit fee that covers the inspector's time and travel, and it buys exactly one thing: an audit, with whatever outcome the audit produces.

  • The fee is the same whether a firm passes or fails.
  • Inspections are unannounced. Nobody gets a tidy-up window.
  • Adverse entries stay published for the life of the record.
  • A withdrawn firm keeps its record, marked withdrawn.
